DREAMING IN PLACE

It seems human to want for something that we don’t have, and to forget what is there right in front of us. Sometimes it just takes a few questions to discover the treasure in our midst.
On January 2 we set out for Volkspark Friedrichshain and ended up stopping off at Arnswalderplatz, a two block square just two short blocks from Friedrichshain. The flowers were in blossom in spite of the time of year and the park full of kids, families and couples.
Here we spoke to some local boys who took a break from soccer to chat with us about the park, their dream parks.
I’m struck by how bunkers at one time were signs of war and today, through the eyes of the young, are signs of play.
