ABOUT THE VIDEO
In September 2017 I traveled to Paris and Marseille, France. While looking for a place to sit down and enjoy the sun and croissant, I discovered there are very few public benches. It’s something I saw in Budapest, also. Benches were split in two, presumably so that nobody could rest there for the night.
Berlin, on the other hand, is dotted with benches. But these are not just any benches. There are benches made of wood, metal, stone. There are benches that recline giving one space to think or benches in the round. The colors, sizes and shapes vary.
As I began the project I started collecting glimpses of the benches I saw throughout Berlin. This is a small sampling.
