Die Abende sind eine gute Zeit, um die Menschen in den Parks zu beobachten. Wenn es ein bisschen W\u00e4rme oder auch nur einen regenfreien Himmel gibt, kommen die Berliner auf die freie Wiese, decken sich zu und nehmen sich Zeit zum Entspannen. Man findet Menschen, die mit einem Bier oder einem Glas Wein am Rand des Kanals sitzen, in den kleinen Raumtaschen zwischen B\u00fcschen und B\u00e4umen. Sie haben halbprivate R\u00e4ume, die sie am Ende des Tages nachholen k\u00f6nnen. Entlang der Spree an der Grenze zwischen Mitte und Wedding kann man sogar Leute finden, die grillen, obwohl ich mir nicht sicher bin, ob das legal ist.<\/p>\n Was mich an diesem Ansturm von Menschen am Abend interessiert, ist der nicht-kommerzielle Charakter dieser Interaktionen. In San Francisco drehten sich unsere abendlichen Ausfl\u00fcge um Restaurants und Trinklokale. Wir treffen uns selten an einem \u00f6ffentlichen Ort. Hier sind die \u00f6ffentlichen R\u00e4ume voll von selbst generiertem Naschen und Entspannen. Nat\u00fcrlich geh\u00f6ren zu vielen dieser Treffen auch Ausfl\u00fcge ins \u00f6rtliche Spati (Late Night Shop) auf ein Bier.<\/p>\n Wenn Sie keine M\u00f6glichkeit haben, Ihre Decke von zu Hause abzuholen oder etwas mehr als nur ein Bier m\u00f6chten, gibt es in einigen der Parks auch Caf\u00e9s, die bis sp\u00e4t in den Abend ge\u00f6ffnet bleiben. In der N\u00e4he meiner Wohnung entdeckte ich ein Caf\u00e9 im Rosengarten. Es f\u00fchlte sich gem\u00fctlich an, dort an einem hei\u00dfen Sommerabend auf einen Drink vorbeizukommen und zu plaudern.<\/p>\n Im Winter k\u00f6nnen Sie in Ihren \u00f6rtlichen Park gehen und einen Gl\u00fchwein oder ein Gl\u00fchbier zu sich nehmen. Was ich an dieser Tradition liebe, ist, dass der Gl\u00fchwein in echten Kr\u00fcgen serviert wird. In der Regel hinterl\u00e4sst man ein oder zwei Euro f\u00fcr den Gebrauch des Bechers, die bei der R\u00fcckgabe zur\u00fcckerstattet werden. Ich habe Gespr\u00e4che beim Schaukeln und eines sp\u00e4ten Abends beim H\u00fcpfen auf einem Trampolin genossen, was tags\u00fcber schwierig sein kann, wenn viele Kinder um den Sprung wetteifern. Sie k\u00f6nnten nachts sogar auf \u00f6ffentliche Kunstausstellungen sto\u00dfen. In diesem Sommer wurde mir klar, dass es sie in jedem Bezirk gibt und den ganzen Sommer lang laufen. Die meisten zeigen deutschsprachige Filme, es gibt aber auch englischsprachige Abende. Und zum Gl\u00fcck f\u00fcr mich erfuhr ich, dass das Freiluftkino in Kreuzberg jeden Sommerabend Filme in Originalsprache zeigt, die englische Untertitel haben.<\/p>\n Irgendwie f\u00fchlt sich das Freiluftkino an wie ein Mini-Urlaub aus der Stadt. Es gibt einem die Gelegenheit, den Himmel zu sehen. Wildschweine und Biber kommen beide nachts heraus. Es ist jedoch schwierig, sie in ihren heimischen Lebensr\u00e4umen zu entdecken. Ich habe versucht, Wildschweine aufzusp\u00fcren, hatte aber noch kein Gl\u00fcck.<\/p>\n Ich bin im Tiergarten auf andere Wildtiere gesto\u00dfen. Im Fr\u00fchling habe ich viele Gruppen von Hasen gesehen, die sich auf dem Rasen vergn\u00fcgten, und ich habe sie auch im Gliesdreieck-Park gesehen. W\u00e4hrend eines Abendvortrags in der Akademie der K\u00fcnste sah ich eine Fuchsfamilie im Garten. Zwei junge F\u00fcchse spielten, w\u00e4hrend zwei erwachsene F\u00fcchse daneben standen.<\/p>\n Wenn Sie eine F\u00fchrung durch die lokale Tierwelt w\u00fcnschen, gibt es verschiedene M\u00f6glichkeiten. Dieses Jahr entdeckte ich, dass das Naturkundemuseum Nachtigallwanderungen von 22 Uhr bis 1 Uhr morgens anbietet! Erstaunlich. Das steht auf meiner Liste f\u00fcr den n\u00e4chsten Fr\u00fchling. Und f\u00fcr Kinder bietet das Waldmuseum im Grunewald Nachtwanderungen durch den Lebensraum der Wildschweine an. Wenn Sie in einer gro\u00dfen Gruppe wandern, werden Sie wahrscheinlich keins sehen, aber es ist eine gute M\u00f6glichkeit, den Wald zu besuchen. Die st\u00e4dtische Dichte und die Tatsache, dass sich die Menschen zu Fu\u00df, mit dem Fahrrad und \u00f6ffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln und nicht nur mit dem Auto bewegen, tragen dazu bei. You find people sitting on the edge of the canal with a beer or glass of wine in the little pockets of space in between bushes and trees. They have semi-private spaces to catch up at the end of the day. Along the Spree at the border of Mitte and Wedding, you can even find people grilling, although I\u2019m not sure that is legal.<\/span><\/p> What\u2019s interesting to me about this swell of people in the evening is the non-commercial nature of these interactions. In San Francisco, our evening outings revolved around restaurants and drinking establishments. We rarely meet up in a public space. Here, the public spaces are full of self-generated snacking and relaxing. Of course, many of these gatherings also include trips to the local Spati (late night shop) for beer.<\/span><\/p> If you do not have a chance to collect your blanket from home or want something more than a beer, there are also cafes in some of the parks that stay open late into the evening. Near my\u00a0apartment, I discovered a caf\u00e9 in the rose garden. It felt cozy to stop by there for a drink and chat on a hot summer evening. <\/span><\/p> In winter, you can go to your local park and grab a gl\u00fchwein or gl\u00fchbeer (mulled wine or mulled beer). What I love about the tradition is being served gl\u00fchwein in real mugs. You generally leave one or two euros for the use of the mug which is refunded when you return it. Many parks are open all night long, including their playgrounds. I\u2019ve enjoyed conversations while swinging, and one late night while bouncing on a trampoline, something that can be difficult to do in the daytime when there are a lot of kids vying to jump. You might even run into public art displays at night. This summer, I realized they exist in every district and run all summer long. Most show German language films, however, there are English language evenings. And fortunately for me, I learned that the Freiluftkino in Kreuzberg plays original language films every night of the summer which include English subtitles. <\/span><\/p> Somehow the freiluftkino feels like a mini-vacation from the city. It gives you an opportunity to see the sky. Wild boar and beaver both come out at night. Although, they are challenging to spot in their native habitats. I\u2019ve tried to track wild boar but had no luck yet.<\/span><\/p> I\u2019ve encountered other wildlife in the Tiergarten. In spring I\u2019ve seen many groups of bunnies enjoying the lawn and I've seen them in Gliesdreieck Park as well. During an evening lecture in the Akademie der K\u00fcnste, I saw a fox family in the garden. Two young foxes were playing while two adult foxes stood by. <\/span><\/p> If you want a guided tour of the local wildlife there are options. This year I discovered that the Natural History Museum put on Nightingale walks starting at 10 pm and going until 1 am! Amazing. This is on my list for next spring. And for kids, the Waldmuseum (Forest Museum) in Grunewald offers night walks through wild boar habitat. If you are walking in a big group it is not likely to spot one but it is a good way to visit the forest. And it was on this walk that I learned about the large sand dune located in the middle of Grunewald.<\/span><\/p> [\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text admin_label=\"Text: Closing\" _builder_version=\"3.18.7\" text_font=\"||||||||\" text_font_size=\"18px\" text_font_size_tablet=\"18px\" text_font_size_phone=\"16px\" text_font_size_last_edited=\"on|phone\" text_line_height=\"1.8em\" text_line_height_phone=\"1.7em\" text_line_height_last_edited=\"on|phone\"]<\/p> -<\/span><\/p> I like that at night, parks do not become dead spaces or places to be avoided. The urban density and fact that people are moving on foot, bike and public transportation and not just in their cars help to make this the case.
