2017 war ich neu in Berlin. Ich hatte Berlin mit dem Fahrrad erkundet. Meine Solo-Erkundungen waren immer von Parks begleitet. Als ich an ihnen vorbeifuhr, vermittelten sie unterschiedliche Eindr\u00fccke, teilten unterschiedliche Pers\u00f6nlichkeiten. Manche waren wild, manche waren manik\u00fcriert, manche hatten gro\u00dfe Spielpl\u00e4tze und andere weite offene Fl\u00e4chen.<\/p>\n

Ich war fasziniert von ihrer Vielfalt, aber ich dachte auch \u00fcber die Bedeutung des \u00f6ffentlichen Raums nach, \u00fcber die Auswirkungen der wirtschaftlichen und politischen Ver\u00e4nderungen, die die Privatisierung von Parks in anderen L\u00e4ndern mit sich brachte, und \u00fcber die Zerbrechlichkeit der Natur in einer sich erw\u00e4rmenden Welt.<\/p>\n

In 2017 I was new to Berlin. I had been exploring Berlin by bicycle. My solo explorations were always accompanied by parks. As I rode past them, they gave different impressions, sharing different personalities. Some were wild, some were manicured, some had large playgrounds and others wide open spaces.<\/span><\/p>

I was captivated by their variety but I was also thinking about the importance of public space, the impact of economic and political shifts which was privatizing parks in other countries, and the fragility of nature in a warming world.<\/p>

This is a virtual archive of a year of filming the parks of Berlin, every week, from September 2017 - November 2018. It includes new works after 2018 as the project has expanded within Berlin and beyond.<\/p>
