DIE LUST AM FLIEGEN | The Desire to Fly
Sound Installation / Pop-Up Gallery
9 September, 2018, 14:00-18:00
Otto Lilienthal is recognized as a pioneer of flight. In the late 1800s, he was the first man in Germany to develop a glider than enabled him to fly. He and his team would go out regularly, adapting and perfecting his glider technology. The hill at Otto Lilienthal Park is one place he took flight.
In the summer of 2018, filmmaker Laura J. Lukitsch and photographer Gundula Friese set out to talk to the people of Steglitz to ask them what inspired them about Otto Lilienthal and to also inquire, what would they do if they knew they couldn’t fail.
In an audio installation we share their dreams.
